Hi Everyone! First things first: Micah's bris and the naming of the girls will be Sunday, October 26th at 11:30 am. It will be near where we live. Please let me know if you are planning to attend and I will give you the details (don't really want to post it on a public blog). My email address is windynyc@aol.com in case you don't have it handy.
Okay, now on to the Golda update. Jon and I went by there last night before our dinner. She was doing very well. Fast asleep looking very comfortable. (Jon and Deena said she is resting nicely today too.) I finally remembered to bring the nail clipper and nail file so I gave her her first manicure! Man were her nails long! The nurse manager did as she promised and put notes on the front cover of her chart and on her isolette next to her name tag saying: "I need to be suctioned at least every three hours or I will have episodes. Thanks, Golda." It has worked - this morning the nurse reported that she hasn't had any episodes since the night before and has been suctioned routinely! She is still on room air on her CPAP and is now up to 27 ml of breast milk per feeding. She weighs 1399 g (3 lbs. 1.34 oz.) which is still holding steady.
Leah and Micah are doing well too. They had a much better night last night and have switched to an hour later on the schedule of feedings - 3am, 6am, 9am, noon, 3 pm, 6pm, 9pm, midnight. This will work better for our long-term needs, like getting Harry to and from school and eating dinner, etc. They are looking bigger and bigger these days. I will weigh them tonight before their baths and let you know what they weigh tomorrow.
Jon went with my parents and Harry yesterday to pick up cribs from a friend of a friend. It was a great deal - 3 matching convertible cribs, with mattresses (barely used) and bedding, a glider and a changing table for $600!!! The glider is very comfortable and has replaced our previous one which broke the day before we brought Micah home - what timing!
Anyway, I have to go and do some straightening up. Hope to see you next Sunday!
