I figured it was time for an update! We are all doing well, just very busy!
Harrison just returned to school after Spring Break. He's been doing very well these past two days. We are hoping it continues! He loves math, science and reading and puts up with writing. We enrolled him in karate at the start of the school year. He started in the Dragons as a white belt of course and is now a Dragon orange belt and has been promoted to their BBC class - it's a step up, they are more serious in class and more focused on learning the proper form for the skills. He is really starting to take it seriously and we have seen improvement in his general behavior since he started :)
Leah is doing well too. She is the one "in charge" or at least she thinks she is! She will take the pacifier Micah found under his crib away and bring it to Daddy (they aren't supposed to have them out of bed). She will pick up some random thing from the floor and bring it to one of us. She will go over to Micah or Golda and tell them No! then come tell us a whole story about what happened (I wish I knew what she was saying!). She is very much like my Mom - she picks things up and walks back and forth, puts one thing down, picks up another and walks around again. She is always walking around, never wanting to sit still, never wanting to sit and eat. Leah likes eating her veggies and starches, but getting protein into her in any form is difficult. And, all you have to do is tell her she needs to get dressed and she walks or runs right into their bedroom to wait for you.
Micah has finally gotten the hang of walking! He is falling much less and his Frankenstein impersonation is starting to fade. He has starting really fighting with Leah over almost everything. He for one certainly doesn't think she is in charge! He is very interested in figuring out how things work and will sit and examine a new item until he fully gets it. An example: they got a jack in the box for Hannukah. Micah played with it constantly, making you push it back down and turn the crank while he watched carefully. Then he made the connection between the little latch and the popping up lid. Now you push it down and he pushes the little latch down and watches it pop open! His favorite toy though is a ball. It doesn't matter what size, type, color. He smiles a huge smile, takes it and says "Ball", then throws it with a laugh.
Golda is making great progress too. She is really working on standing and cruising - it really pisses her off that everyone else can walk and she can't! She is eating more by mouth these days too (even things she isn't supposed to have when Micah slips her food). The GI doc saw her today and decided to start taking her off the Reglan which is a good thing since it has such potentially detrimental side effects. She gets OT, speech with feeding and PT and is doing really well with all three. She speaks the most and clearest of the three of them.
Okay, I gotta run now - dinner is ready.
