Day 29 Update

Good Morning. We are a bit pooped today. For some reason the babies were very squeaky and cranky last night. It kept waking me and, of course, by the time I got up and got to the pack n play they were sound asleep and quiet again!

Leah and Micah are doing well though. They just increased the amounts they are eating - Micah to 90 ml (3 oz!) and Leah to 75 ml (2.5 oz) so they have also increased the amounts they are pooping too! On the plus side though, they are really looking bigger now - and our new scale proves that - Micah is now 5 lbs. 10 oz.!!! Leah is 4 lbs. 6 oz.!!! I didn't believe the scale at first and had Jon get one of his weights to check it's accuracy. Well, it's accurate (to within 1.5 oz.) so those babies have really packed on the weight since coming home! Now that Micah is above 5 lbs. I will be consulting the calendar then calling the Mohel to arrange the bris.

Golda is holding her own. Jon went to see her last night. He held her for a half hour and she cried when he put her back in her isolette. He didn't like how her Anderson tube (the saliva drain) looked so he asked the nurse to change it before he left (which she did). This morning the nurse told me that they had to put Golda back on the CPAP because she had another couple of episodes of both apnea and bradycardia over night. They felt the CPAP would give her a little help in keeping her lungs open since it appears that the episodes are just from her being too tired to remember to breathe all the time and since she doesn't need supplemental oxygen either. She is probably using all her energy to digest her food - she is up to 18 ml of fortified breast milk and will increase to 21 ml later today! She added only 5 g last night, bringing her current weight to 1385 g (3 lbs. 0.85oz.).

Our "grand outing" yesterday to the playground at the school to get the BBB went well. The babies protested being strapped in but then promptly fell asleep until we were on the way back. The stroller doesn't have a rotating front wheel so driving it was a bit tricky, but we got the hang of it pretty soon.

That's Micah up front and Leah in the middle position. The spot where the diaper bag is will be Golda's.

That's it for now. I am going to try to get myself out of here soon since the nurse also told me that Golda is out of breast milk and they are giving her formula until I get there with more.
