Day 57 Update

Hi Everyone! I am completely exhausted so this will be brief.

Deena helped me bring Leah and Micah to the ophthalmologist today. Thankfully, he said everything looks fine with their eyes - no signs of retinopathy of prematurity - and since they are officially full-term now, they are free and clear. We have to come back when they are a year old since they are at risk for other eye conditions, but that's not too big a deal.

After the eye doctor, we went to see Dorothy and surprise her with her great grandchildren. She was very happy with the surprise and proud to show them off to everyone. She even held both of them for a while.

We then came back home, ate some lunch, did Harry's homework and headed out to see Golda - all of us! I cannot begin to tell you how great it felt to have all of my kids in one room for the first time! Jon and I were quite happy - and a little overwhelmed. Like when I was holding Golda and Jon was feeding Leah and Micah started crying. Hmm, now what??? Luckily Mema was there and took care of him, but it certainly made us think about how much harder (and noisier) it will be when we do have all of them home, alone. Not that it won't be great to have them here, but wow, it's gonna be hard! Harry got a little over zealous, both because he was excited by having all his babies together and because he was jealous by the attention they received. It is definitely something we are trying to work on, but it's not too easy to give him the attention he wants and take care of two and three other babies. Also, from all the excitement Golda got a little over-wrought as well and we calmed her down and left so she could get some rest. Poor thing - her bed was invaded by two other babies and she didn't know what to do!

Okay, I need to go collapse into bed now. I have posted some photos from today's family meeting. Enjoy! http://picasaweb.google.com/WindyNYC/FirstMeeting#

You have made Auntie so happy this morning. I now have all of my beautiful babies in one picture on my desktop at work. That is such joy for me to look at everyday while I am at work.
