January 3, 2010

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a safe and happy New Year and a great holiday break. I for one am really looking forward to getting back to work and our usual routine. I love my kids and family, but I really don't know how Jon does this everyday! I have always said I would go nuts if I was home all the time and I'm getting there! lol. I can honestly say that once I am back at work I don't think I will care what anyone has for breakfast or lunch - constantly having to figure out what to feed Leah and Micah, Golda, and Harry, and me and Jon is painful. I guess that could be why Jon gets annoyed when I say I don't know what I want for dinner - oops!

This vacation has been wonderful though. I have enjoyed spending a lot of time with the kids, especially Harry. We did some shopping together and some reading and Harry and I finally finished cleaning up his room last week. He is so pleased with all the space that he has been keeping it clean! A minor miracle to be sure. It took us four days to do and included emptying every single draw and bin and rearranging everything, but it looks great now. And it makes things easier to clean and to find and play with.

Leah has really loved being able to toddle over and get hugs and snuggles from Mommy whenever she wants and she has really been taking advantage of it. Not that I am complaining at all. She is great snuggler - putting her little head down under yours and pushing against you when you kiss her. Adorable. And she has finally stopped fighting the ponytails and lets me put her hair up everyday now. She looks so freaking cute with her little ponytails that even Golda has to touch them!

Micah has finally started standing for a few minutes without holding on. He is so determined to walk! He's cruising everywhere he can and speed-crawling when he can't. He can climb stairs and anything else like a monkey. He climbs onto Golda's rocking chair, stands up and rocks, usually backwards. Onto the couch and hangs over the arm. Onto the love seat and hangs over that arm. Even onto his sisters (which usually leads to much screaming and hitting and hair pulling and ends with Micah in retreat). Micah loves to tease people, especially his Daddy. This usually entails him doing something he knows he isn't supposed to, like rocking backwards in Golda's chair, screaming to get Daddy's attention, then spinning around, sitting down and quickly putting on a big smile while looking angelic. And as soon as Daddy turns away he's back up again.

Golda is doing very well. Her therapy has really paid off. She is now a confirmed crawler, a little slow but getting faster every day. And sometimes she even crawls with her head up now so she doesn't bonk into absolutely everything! Jon even saw her cruising a bit on the couch the other day. Man are we in trouble when all three are walking pros! Golda is eating better and better too. I think the biggest challenge for us is finding things to keep her interested in eating. She does best when she is being fed while everyone else is eating and when we give her something we are eating - like Miso soup broth, crackers, the fillings from our ravioli. She really likes flavor and saltiness so we are trying to be creative and try different things often. Today she had her second helping of hummus and "mmm"ed the whole time.

I was very productive over my vacation. In addition to cleaning Harry's room I (with Pam's help) re-organized the babies' room and our room and finally got the cards out for the babies' birth announcements/thank yous and our moving cards! The cards are the biggest weight off my shoulders. I have been working on them off and on, whenever I had a chance, since the triplets were born and they are of course way over due, but please enjoy them.

And the last thing on my To-Do List, I have posted a ton of photos for you to enjoy. There are the Lunching Triplets, our Visit to Great Grandma, the Hanukkah Party at Grandma Deena, Christmas 2009, Leah and Micah's first time eating blueberry pancakes, Harry's Yellow Belt Test, a combined album of Chanukkah for the Babies and Brent's birthday, the first night of Hanukkah 2009, some random shots of Thanksgiving weekend 2009, and of course, Random Cuties as of 1-3-10. There are also two albums from Aunt Sheila. One is Hope's Baby Shower and the other is from our visit to meet Liam and Liam's Bris, with a cake for Julian's birthday thrown in!

I hope everyone has an easy return to work and/or school. At least some of you have Martin Luther King Day to look forward to this month!
